So what even is The Traveling Hairstylist?

11 months ago I left my successful salon suite, rented out our home property, and moved into an RV with my husband, 2 dogs, and 1 cat to pursue the mission behind The Traveling Hairstylist. I will tell more on that transition later but for now I want to talk a little bit about the business.

I've been a part of the beauty industry for almost 13 years now and something we are commonly used to are trends always changing along with new methods, products, systems, etc. That is except for one area...

Leave of absences...

I'm talking about maternity leaves, surgeries you need to be out a couple months for, or even the moment we hate to even think about...breaking an arm and now being faced with an unexpected leave.

Just hearing about the scenario makes many of us stylists and salon owners anxious.

That's how I knew it was time for a change.

Something to completely transform the game for our industry.

The Traveling Hairstylists

This is an alternative service for stylists by stylists.

This alternative method is something that is SO needed for this industry to give peace of mind to stylists/salons to have an experienced stylist who can come in and be an extension of the stylist to take care of their clients while they are gone. This also ensures that their clientele is being nurtured indirectly by the stylist on leave which gives them more security of not loosing clients during a time they would normally have to go somewhere else.

This service also provides a source of income or rent relief to those away on a leave since we operate on daily rates or sub-leased rental rates. For daily rates, this means that any overage made weekly, stays in the stylists pocket to use towards a hefty medical bill to pay off, or even the stylist who just brought a little one into the world and their expenses have quickly changed. Rental rates can be HUGE for many stylists who normally would still have to pay rent every week and now can have the stylist come in who is covering for not only their clients but also their salon/suite rent.

Whatever the situation may be, The Traveling Hairstylists service is a service to help relieve stylists in many ways. It's something talked very little about but I truly hope that one day soon this can grow to be one of the #1 resources to help stylists when these situations come up.

So this is a small glimpse into the business and where I hope to see it grow.

I'd love to know what more you would like to hear about this or other things I think I could have value in sharing like RV life, hair guidance, and all things travel.

Lastly, I just want to thank you for being here and taking interest in what I have to share!
